6/16/2022 - Albany, New York - We're extremely excited to announce that 5 time...5 time...5 time...5 time...5 time World Champion and 2 time...2 time...WWE Hall of Famer and professional wrestling icon, Booker T as a special guest at the IPWHF Class of 2022 Induction Ceremony on Saturday August 27, 2022 at the Crowne Plaza Albany - Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York.
In conjunction with 2022 Excelsior Award recipient Anthony DiPippo and the Wrestling for Innocence Project, Booker T will join us for the weekend long celebration of Professional Wrestling.
Wrestling For Innocence, established by criminal justice advocate, Anthony DiPippo, looks to bring pro wrestling events to communities in an attempt to entertain as well as educate people in regards to those who are wrongfully convicted. DiPippo, a life long pro wrestling fan and an exoneree himself, serves as an advocate for the wrongfully accused and uses professional wrestling as a means to bring the message of those in similar situations to the forefront.
DiPippo's work with the Wrestling for Innocence project has earned him the 2022 Excelsior Award for the IPWHF Class of 2022. DiPippo joins the list with last year's recipient, the late, great entertainment icon Andy Kaufman.
Booker T will be in attendance for the weekend's festivities which include a meet and greet, Legends Panel Discussion, and the Class of 2022 induction dinner. The IPWHF will be located on the second floor of the MVP Arena in Downtown Albany, directly across from the main offices of the Albany FireWolves of the National Lacrosse League, with the grand opening scheduled for Friday August 26th during Induction Weekend 2022.
MVP Arena is home to the Siena Saints (NCAA), Albany FireWolves (NLL), and the 2021 NAL Champion Albany Empire (NAL) along with numerous concert events and professional wrestling live events throughout the year.
